Portland cocktail bar and chef win 2026 James Beard Awards

A Portland cocktail bar and a local chef were honored at the 2026 James Beard Awards.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - A Portland cocktail bar and a local chef were honored at the 2026 James Beard Awards.

Scotch Lodge was named Outstanding Bar, and Ryan Roadhouse of Nodoguro was named Best Chef in the Northwest and Pacific category.

Scotch Lodge, located in southeast Portland, opened in 2019. The bar describes itself as a cocktail bar for whisky lovers and it is known for its cozy atmosphere.

Scotch Lodge won the title of Outstanding Bar this year after being nominated for the same category last year. The bar is open every day and reservations are recommended.

Roadhouse of Nodoguro was named Best Chef in the Northwest and Pacific category. According to its website, Nodoguro is a Japanese tasting menu restaurant where seasonal Pacific Northwest ingredients meet the traditions of kaiseki dining.

The restaurant opened in 2014 and is located in downtown Portland. July dinner dates are now available for booking on its website, as well as June and July lunch dates.

The James Beard Award winners were revealed at the annual ceremony in Chicago. The James Beard Awards are widely considered among the highest accolades for chefs and restaurants.
